McLaren has made a number of cars since its start more than fifty years ago. As it was predictable, they made race cars as their owner was a track driver. Of them, we have all the big ones such as the Senna and P1, but under the shadow of them all, we have the 675LT, and it is just marvelous for the price you’re paying. Let’s get into the stats. The 675LT has a 666hp V8 engine, that makes a 0-60 time of 3 seconds with a top speed of 203mph. Here’s what makes it the best track car for the money.
So, under the queens and kings of McLaren, the 675LT is a close runner up. The fact that a car with an original msrp of over $350,000 had very similar performance numbers to the $1M Senna was just incredible. What makes it even more incredible is the fact that it depreciated so nicely. As with almost all McLarens, they depreciate like crazy. Now, a 2016 675LT costs near $220,00, which is still a big price, but is still comparable to the Huracan.
Yes the Huracan has a higher top speed, but as a track car, it does not compare. McLaren specializes in a race utility. This means that it has high tech features such as an active rear wing. Whenever the driver brakes hard, the wing will shoot up to slow you as fast as possible. Also, the technology used is no joke. All the curves and lines in the car are all based on the way the car moves through the wind. Some are used for higher top speeds, while some are used for the downforce of the car. Lastly, the McLaren tub where you sit is incredibly sturdy and safe in the event of an accident.
In conclusion, the McLaren 675LT is a very impressive car that has a lot of potential. Due to the V8 engine, it is easily modifiable for more performance and agility. Its an awesome car.
