The Bugatti Chiron is the fastest car in the world. It was the first car to achieve a top speed of 300mph but they didn’t stop there. The Bugatti Chiron has a quad turbo W16 engine that gives of 1,500hp and a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 304.77mph. The fastest in automotive history. This car started production in 2016 and was limited to 500 units, each costing around $3,500,000. This car is loaded with quite the amount of cool features and statistics but here are just a few of them.

Those interesting statistics and features:
- Retractable spoiler. The people who designed the Bugatti Chiron did not want to disrupt the beauty or physique of the car with a spoiler. Bugatti’s alternative to this was putting the spoiler into the car. The way this spoiler works is by hydraulics that are activated at certain speeds, that cause the spoiler to lift up and add additional down force to the car.
- The customizations. Bugatti truly has gone over the top with this car’s performance but that did not stop them from making the customizations over the top. When ordering a Bugatti Chiron, you have to customize it. Some of those customizations include having to pick from over 18 different kinds of stitching for your seats and all sorts of carbon options. A carbon fiber option can be as low as $180,000 and as high as $210,000, while the stitching can cost up to $28,000. You can even change the name of the car. The Bugatti group has allowed people to take the Chiron part of the name and actually change it to your own name if you wanted to.
- The speed key. In North America, they decided that cars have to be electronically limited to be street legal. The limit in America is 236mph, but Bugatti found a way to sort of avoid it. They added a speed key. This key can unlock your car’s full potential and reach it top speed. This top speed mode will only work once the car has run a full diagnostics test to make sure that you won’t crash while driving at those speeds.
- The building process. The Bugatti headquarters in Molsheim, France does not have any machinery that can assemble the car, which means that it is all handmade. A big portion of the cost is how labor intensive making one of these cars need to be assembled. It usually takes around 20 full time employees and nine months to assemble just one car, and longer if you have any unusual specifications. Everything in this car is handmade from the seats, to the actual engine. Once this car had been assembled completely, you won’t get it for another month due to testing purposes. While testing, they inspect the paint job for around 36 hours to check for any imperfections and will test the car in their “hurricane room” where the car is tested with all sorts of powerful weather aspects to make sure that the car would be able to handle that in real life events. One other thing they do is test the launch control system 200 times. By doing this, they make sure that the transmission is durable and won’t break down easily. If they find that the transmission can not handle, they disassemble the car and start redoing certain parts of the engine.

The Bugatti is the fastest luxury and sports car ever made. It is a revolutionary car that has proven that car manufacturers can soar for new and unheard of speeds. The Bugatti Chiron sure isn’t cheap, but as Bugatti and several other people have figured, anything worth having does not come cheap, especially if it is the best in its class.
