The Lamborghini Urus: Lamborghini’s Take On A Family Car

The Lamborghini Urus isn’t exactly the type of car you would think of when someone mentions the Lamborghini Automotive Company. This Lamborghini is an SUV. This car has a twin turbocharged V8 engine that produces 640 horsepower and has a top speed of 190 mph. This SUV has an impressive 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds. This SUV has a base price of around $210,000 without special options and customization.

There is one design in the interior of the Lamborghini Urus that really stands out. The design is hexagons. Almost everything on the inside of this is based on the hexagon shape. The seats have hexagons stitched on the seat, the air vents, cupholders, dashboard, gage cluster, and many other features of this car have this hexagon shape incorporated in it. (Lamborghini Hexagons?)

This SUV has many different driving modes from street mode to snow mode. A section in the front center of the car is the different modes you can choose from, but they are written in Italian. If you do not understand Italian, you can hit “Lamborghini Anima” on the small screen in the front center of the car to show a picture of what each driving mode is. Here are the driving modes included in the Lamborghini Urus:

Strada. This mode is the street mode. This mode is basically the comfort mode. It is mainly used when you don’t feel like using up all 640 horses available and just want a smooth and calm ride. Also, this mode is programmed to soften up the shifts to make them less aggressive and sporty.

Sport. This mode is sport mode. Sport mode opens up the exhaust pipes for a louder roar of the engine and also changes a few things in the drivers infotainment system. It changes a few colors and reminds you that you are in sport mode.

Corsa. This mode is race mode. Corsa, meaning track, completely changes the drivers infotainment system so that you can only see rev count and then the speed you are going is off in the corner. The reasoning for this is because Lamborghini says that the only things that are important during a race is to see your rev cout to make sure you don’t burn out the transmission and get the best, most effective shifts out of your car.

Sabbia, Terra, and Neve. These modes, all listed in Italian, mean sand, dirt, and snow. These are all the different terrains that the Lamborghini Urus is capable of driving on. Lamborghini included these modes to show how this car is more applicable to daily life making it more practical in a sense. In fact, the whole design of the car was mainly based on it’s daily usability to the point where Lamborghini included many different wheel sizes and types to ensure that you are able to do what you like best.

Ego. This mode is a customizable driving experience. This mode is where you work with the car’s settings to make the feel of the shifts how you like it, and you can also temporarily change the suspension of the car.

In conclusion, the Lamborghini Urus is the ultimate family SUV that can actually be used everyday if you are not worried about it’s $210,000 price tag. Also, if you were to buy this car, you would have one the fastest SUV ever produced. After all, this is Lamborghini’s take on a family SUV, so don’t expect it to be anything less than a real supercar.
