The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Coupe

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Coupe is a powerful, yet lightweight supercar. This car’s 5.2 L twin-turbocharged V12 engine produces 715 horsepower with a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 211 mph. The name of this car, Superleggera, is an Italian word meaning “superlight”. This car got that name in its title because it is a lightweight car that contains a lot of carbon fiber.

Most cars become heavier due to larger brakes and bigger components needed to slow the car down and allow it to function as it increases in speed. The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is different. Instead of having the car become heavier by adding all these necessary items, Aston Martin has found a way for the car to handle its power and be lightweight at the same time. Some features, such as the Carbon Ceramic Brakes, work well with other parts of the car to keep it light. 

The Aeroblade II is a big component that allows the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera to create downforce. This part is made out of carbon fiber and works together with the double diffuser to create a large amount of downforce. The double diffuser accelerates air beneath the car. The Aeroblade II and double diffuser control and redirect the air flowing into the car, to push the car down to the ground.  

In this car there are three types of driving modes. They are GT, Sport, and Sport plus. GT stands for “grand touring”, so the GT mode would be the mode to use if you wanted to go on a casual car ride. This mode is smooter, allowing you to have a calm and comfortable ride. Sport mode has a tighter suspension, allowing the exhaust valves to open. When this happens the car becomes more powerful. The Sport plus mode is the most powerful mode out of the three. This mode has the tightest suspension, allowing the car to use the most of its power. The Sport plus mode is typically used if you want a faster, and more extreme ride.

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Coupe is an extremely lightweight and powerful car. All the carbon fiber and different parts included in this car help it live up to its name. It may not be the fastest Aston Martin or the most powerful one, but it is still a very powerful car.
