The Aston Martin Vantage is a British made luxury sports car that is considered Aston Martin’s entry level car. Although this is the entry level car, it is not cheap, costing at around $160,000 without options. This car has a strong V8 engine borrowed from Mercedes AMG that produces 503hp, and a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. This car is powerful reaching a top speed of 211mph, but unlike most other supercars, Aston Martin is not all about the performance, rather the craftsmanship and quality of the car.
The Aston Martin Vantage has a lot of technology coming straight out of Mercedes. For example the infotainment system, the key fob, and the turning signals all come from Mercedes. The reasoning behind this is that Aston Martin made an agreement with Mercedes, therefore allowing them to use the technology of all the previous generation’s produced by Mercedes. This in turn, helps reduce time and money for Aston Martin because they do not have to custom make technology or spend time doing that. They are basically focusing on the rate of production instead of all the technologies which can be good and bad. This can be good for the company because it allows them to expand their company at a faster rate.It can be bad because people can notice it, leading them to think that they are cheap.
This car was designed to be as user friendly as possible. The interior consists of minimal screens and a lot of buttons. People and companies, over time, have switched to making all the control systems accessible by the touch of a screen. This may seem good, but very few car companies have mastered this, and oftentimes it is very hard to access simple things that are essential to the driver’s comfort, and can actually distract the driver from the road. Aston Martin realized in previous car models that people often complain how difficult screens can be, so all essential systems are located on buttons. The driving modes, the AC controls, and radio are all adjustable by the click of a button.
The Aston Martin was also made to be very usable. It has 2 seats and a very big trunk space for a sports car. It is big enough to carry about two normal sized suitcases, meaning that it can be driven on long road trips.
Aston Martin is sadly one of those car brands that depreciate very quickly. It is generally not advised to spend a lot of money on them and configure them to your own specifications because you won’t get that much back. You can buy a used 2016 Aston Martin Vantage with 12,000 miles for $59,000. If you would like one of these cars, always buy them used because you will lose over $100,000 in value.
Aston Martin has successfully made a very reliable and user friendly car. It is generally cheaper than Lamborghini and Ferrari, but still offers a lot of fun and experience in a more affordable way.
