The Mercedes AMG GTR is Mercedes’ top performing car. This car comes in many versions; The AMG GT, AMG GTS, AMG GTC, and then comes the AMG GTR, the most powerful version. The Mercedes AMG GTR comes with 577hp straight from the factory, and can do the 0-60 in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 198mph. This car is a lot cheaper than most supercars at $160,000 but still provides as much as most modern day Ferraris, like the Ferrari 488.
The Mercedes AMG GTR is different from the other GT models because it has around 150hp more and comes with some things that the average GT doesn’t. For example, in the picture above, you see a pretty big spoiler, well in the normal model it does not include this. This is not included in the normal version because Mercedes did not think that it had enough power to the point where it needed extra down force. Also, something that stands this car apart from its “lesser” versions is the powerful V8 engine. This engine was modified to be a twin-turboed V* engine that gives off a lot more power.
This car also comes with five different drive modes, them being “Individual, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, and RACE. As with almost all sports cars, the fuel consumption is quite terrible, so Mercedes found a way to get around this. In order to maintain all these drive modes and still be fuel efficient, they added the stop start mode. This mode temporarily turns off the engine when you come to a stop and then will instantly turn back on when you press on the gas pedal.
This car’s technology is truly amazing including many things that will actively move while you drive in order to give you the best driving experience possible. The feature that stands out most are the active flaps in the front of the car. Under the hood in the very front, these flaps will shift positions based on how fast you are driving to avoid rattling that may occur in the cabin at high speeds, so that you can maintain as comfortable as possible while you are blazing down the race track in your $160,000 car.
As well as being technologically advanced, it also has some costly features that make it stand out more. When this car is fully optioned out, it will cost an extra $30,000 to $40,000 on top of its original asking price. The price of the car can also increase depending on which color you pick. For example, the color that got the car famous, Green Hell Magno, will cost an additional $9,900.
The Mercedes AMG GTR is a very good sports car that beats other exotic cars in terms of pricing. Also, if you are the type of person who does not like to attract a lot of attention, this is the car for you. Any car enthusiast will be able to differentiate this car, but to a normal person, they will just view it as any other car, especially if you have it painted in a more subtle color. Overall, The Mercedes AMG GTR is a great option for people who want a high end exotic car, but at the same time don’t want to spend $400,000
